Points of Pride 2008-2009

  • Grades 3-6 surpassed the state average in all academic areas on the fall 2008 ISTEP+.

  • Frazee was one of the top seven schools in the State of Indiana to be recognized as a Title I Distinguished Schools. This Academic Achievement Award through the Distinguished Schools Grant Program provided the school $25,000.    

  • The Indiana Department of Education recognized Frazee as a high performing Title I school that models best practices for schools of similar demographics identified for school improvement.             

  • Kelly Bennett's artwork was chosen for the 2007-2008 Superintendent's Fabulous Artwork Award.

  • Fifth grader, Taylor Fudge, was awarded a $50 savings bond for her Drug Free Red Ribbon Poster.

  • Fifth grader, Brennen Beckman, was the Red Ribbon Essay winner for Frazee.

  • Frazee 6th graders significantly improved on the fall Math ISTEP+ by 20 percentage points and ELA by 22 percentage points.

  • Frazee 5th graders significantly improved on the fall Math ISTEP+ by 32 percentage points and Science by 20 percentage points.

  • On the fall 2008 ISTEP+, Frazee's average percent passing in all grades tested on ELA and Math was 86.4% compared to Indiana's 73.6%.

  • Frazee has been nominated as one of eight schools by the Indiana Department of Education for the 2009 National Blue Ribbon School Award.

  • Frazee's PL221 status based on performance and improvement is exemplary.

  • Frazee met AYP in all subgroups for student performance on the fall 2008 ISTEP+.

  • 104 Frazee students' artwork was on display at Fayette Regional Hospital's Art Gallery.

  • Frazee collected over 19,000 Box Tops for Education during the 2008-2009 school year.

  • Frazee's student council collected over $600 for the March of Dimes.

  • In 2007-2008 three students earned math champ trophies for meeting their grade level math facts goal. In 2008-2009 seventy students earned the same award.
